Nepal national cricket team has been offered back to play the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

The other participating nation, UAE withdrew the name from the tournament which has opened the gate for Nepal to feature in the tourney. The official reason for Emirates cricket to withdraw the name has not been published out yet.

After finishing on the fourth position in 2018 ACC Asia Cup Qualifiers, Nepal had lost the opportunity to play Asia Cup Cricket 2018 and Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019.

As per the regulations of ACC, the winner of the qualifiers was set to participate in the Asia Cup 2018 and the top 3 sides grabbing the Emerging Teams Asia Cup spot.

Crowned as the champions of the qualifiers, Hong Kong participated in the previous year’s Asia Cup. Similarly, the top three sides Hong Kong, UAE and Oman were also provided the spot for upcoming Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

The tournament will begin on November 14 with the final clash scheduled for November 23. Nepal has been ranked in Group B alongside host Bangladesh, India and Hong Kong. The other four sides, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Oman and Afghanistan are placed in Group B.

Nepal will play it’s opening match against India on November 14. The team is set to fight against Hong Kong on November 16 and against Bangladesh on November 18.
